can't remove pot file

I begin translation in my fedora file... but I can't remove the .pot
file. This is the message I got:
cvs remove: file `help-screens-C.pot' still in working directory
cvs remove: 1 file exists; remove it first
I commited the .po file.
can you tell me how to remove the file??
