I am sure there are many people in the west who are interested in Arabic 
typefaces (maybe even for use in other non-Latin languages?) who have some 
or no knowledge of Arabic.

There was a convention of not writing Arabic at any list but docs.
I don't know who made it or when, Though I disagree with it.
But recently I accepted a role to write Arabic only for subject that
required a good knowledge at Arabic like this one.
