Hi,
A friend of mine told me about tesseract-oct, an OCR software released by
google under Apache Licence.

Here is an article about this free software

It seams to be the first powerful open source ocr software.

I  download code sources. There are many good pieces of code in this
program. We can, in siragi-OCR project, use a lot of them. Our contribution
could be giving the tesseract-ocr support of arabic.

To be continued ...
