Hi,
A friend of mine told me about tesseract-oct, an OCR software released by
google under Apache Licence.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/tesseract-ocr/
Here is an article about this free software
http://applications.linux.com/article.pl?sid=06/09/18/191251&from=rss
It seams to be the first powerful open source ocr software.
I download code sources. There are many good pieces of code in this
program. We can, in siragi-OCR project, use a lot of them. Our contribution
could be giving the tesseract-ocr support of arabic.
To be continued ...
