Hi, Developers, Salaam,
I just discovered that the Open Source Desktop Publishing (DTP) software
SCRIBUS (http://www.scribus.net) version 1.3.3 supports at least one Complex
Text Layout (CTL) script correctly (Thai) but does not yet support Arabic
correctly : Arabic letter-joining behaviour is missing. See bug # 0001079 on
bugs.scribus.net. I added a note and attached a new PNG screenshot.
Since Scribus must already be using Pango for CTL of Thai, I'm a little
surprised that Arabic is not supported. Be that as it may, perhaps some of
the experienced Arabeyes developers can take a look at Scribus and accelerate
solution of the problem.
