ITL Java and SWIG (was Re: itl library question)

I think Nadim previously suggested the use of SWIG (does the
suggestion still stand?). I'm not fimilliar with it, but we really
need to settle this issue and probebly provide the swig interface
files needed. Any help with this is really appreciated. You have a
