include "/usr/share/themes/Default/gtk-2.0/gtkrc"
style "user-font" {
font="-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-p-*-iso8859-15"
}
widget_class "*" style "user-font"
gtk-font-name = "helvetica 11"
class "GtkWidget" style "default-text"
That's strange, you are setting "gtk-font-name"
but you aren't using it.
and setting the font via font="-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-p-*-iso8859-15"
is the method used by gtk 1.x
try font="helvetica 12" || font="Helvetica 12"

I think that OOo and mozilla ignore the ~/.gtkrc-2.0, Not sure.
PS. try to set the width of the window size from the preferences dialog -> advanced.
