First of all, it's Arabbix and not Arabix (note the 'b's). Yes, the
applications shipped with Arabbix do have bidi support. It is not as
simple as saying 'this distro has bidi support'.

If you can't remember the version, it is very hard for us to tell you if
it is something you are doing wrong or it was something broken in the
distro version you used.
The latest (0.8) works just fine for me (and all others I have seen use
it -- as far as arabic input/output). Check http://bugs.arabeyes.org/
for Arabbix bugs to know what is missing so you know what to expect.

The distribution includes a packages. Some packages are meta-packages
(ie. a list of several packages). KDE is a meta-package in most
instances. Arabbix does not include KDE. This is because of several
reasons, but a good enough one would be, the KDE Arabic translation is
not complete enough to package.
