there is a useful site providing a VSOP87 implementation in C (open source),
http://libnova.sourceforge.net/ .
I used the example application 'sun', which provides rise, set and transit
times, and which uses a declination of -0.8333 (50') to account for
refraction and the suns diameter (this seems to be a standard figure).
Using the previous lat/long values for today I got:

this is consistent with the web site http://www.yanabi.com/praytimes/ , which
also claims to implement VSOP87.
