salam 3alaikum,
masha'Allah, i tested your app under linux and it works nicely (you just
need to change the ; to : in the script for separating the elements of
the classpath).

Thanks for telling me.
I added a bash script (kuran.sh) to release 0.06b where this has been done already.

i just had a question though - did you use the java libquran? because
it seemed that your version 0.05 (the only one for which i saw source
code on the webpage) used your own library, and i can't figure out if
you are using the same thing for 0.06

Yes I still use my own library for this app.

I don't mean to derogate you efforts, but I think your port is way to complicated. It does not recognize the potential of Java - maybe it was not meant to because it's a port -, but I wanted an api that was easily accessible/understandable for gui developers.

Btw. I have tested your port + sqb on my machine. It took me a lot of time to get it work mainly because debugging was very confusing because of the - imho - abstruse connections between the classes - especially because of the add... functions.
It had absolutely no error tolerance (i.e. it did not work, when the files were the slightest different from what your app expected).

Please don't feel offended and correct me if I'm mistaken.
I appreciate your work. I would not mind giving up using my own library in the KDE version, but I think it is not the right way for Java.

I hope we can work on (only) *one* version of the library together in the future.

your readme though hints that
you do, "Differences to the library provided by arabeyes.org:" -- if in
fact you do, could we merge those changes into cvs for the benefit of
others who choose to use this library later on?

These are just small changes as written in readme.txt. I just added 'version="1"' to the quran element and placed a <!DOCTYPE ...> at the beginning of the file.
Feel free to take these changes into the arabeyes library.
