OpenOffice Arabic localisation project launched

Hello All:

Arabeyes would like to announce the launch of the OpenOffice.org
localization project.

The OpenOffice project focuses on providing an accurate, and complete
user interface translation for the coming release of OpenOffice.

Current Status:

After some initial investigation, it was found that the quality of the
translations is rather questionable and require a thorough review.

the following tasks have to be done on all files in order to start
committing the translation back to Openoffice.org:

1. Remove all the "English/English" duplicates (original author placed
the same English string in place of the actual localization".

2. Review all translations and change the necessary terms to follow the
translation guidelines setup by Arabeyes

3. Complete all untranslated terms for final committal to OpenOffice.org
CVS.

4. Provide Arabic-localised builds for Linux, Windows, and Solaris.

All help is greatly appreciated as this project is of great importance
for all Arabs everywhere and on every platform.
