It would serve no purpose and has traditional been reserved for
official organizational usage only (in replies to invitations
and/or official contacts, etc -- search the archives to see how
it was used in the past).

With the plethora of free account out there (the likes of google,
yahoo and others) dolling-out emails (or even aliases) is an
unnecessary burden/task to maintain to say the least and a headache
to administer (what criteria do you use to allow/deny someone to use
it and what if it gets abused and what if someone oversteps their
boundary and makes statements that are meant to sound official, etc,
etc, etc).

Unnecessary & and IMHO don't add any value - just my $0.02's worth.
