Volunteers, Unicode, previous examples and things

Hi, I've not been following the debate diligently, but I thought that I'd put in 2 cents. Obviously Hebrew encoding has had similar problems, but the verification of the Hebrew Morphological text of the Bible happened under somewhat different technological circumstances. Here is a link to some of the problems that have come up with encoding in UTF along with some suggested solutions.

Another thought that I have had is that one way of mobilizing volunteers is by utilizing an already existing proofing format. I'm not sure if this is possible yet, but perhaps this will provide structure to the many levels of proofing that a task of this magnitude with require. This site also has the infrastructure for discussions and for the project director to standardize decisions, and to communicate with proofers.

I hope that this is helpful, and though I'm not among the techelite, I hope that these previous projects could serve as useful examples.

Sincerely,

Julie :)
