This is a curious turn. Tanween has always been expressed by reduplication
of the vowel marks. Keeping it intact therefore means 1. identifying vowel
marks as graphemes and 2. identifying tanween as a reduplication of existing
vowel graphemes.
The present Unicode solution with single, unique codes for nunated vowels is
a conceptual mistake: the codes now represent the glyphs for nunation, not
the abstract graphemes. As a result search actions based on case endings
(like yawmu-n / al-yawmu) are frustrated.
