Shame on him and you should have promptly replied, NO its the Arabic
community's Linux/Unix development project. We've always stressed
on the fact that Arabeyes needs to be set-up and exist on its own
accord and it ought to ISA out-live us all, as such I'm the first one
to say that it should never be associated with any individual(s) in
a possessive sense/manner but rather as a volunteering entity/force.

In any regard, you struck a nerve that's all - people need to be made
aware of the "grand"ness of this project and its wide encompassing
goals and aspirations (this ain't no 2-3 people doing this as a hobby
anymore :-)

This idea (now termed OAO for OpenArabia.org) is beyond Arabeyes' focus
and immediate interest although some are helping both projects. OAO's
site is undergoing a massive face-lift (headed by Amr Al-Hindi). One of
the first things he's planning on doing beyond coming up with a professional
theme, etc is to set-up a mailing-list for all interested parties to
converge upon and also give some thought to future expansion and inclusion.
The idea was to include all Open Source related topics on that site/portal
which would not be exclusive to linux (books, movies, encyclopedias, etc
which are open sourced are fair game). The goal was/is to make OAO be THE
Arabic Open Source Portal/Movement to educate and facilitate open source
ideas upon the Arabic community.

Salam.

 - Nadim
