I heard from various other people (M.Elzubeir, Anmar, Isam, ...) that this
is a problem indeed.  Not sure if anyone has a work around and/or a patch.
In any regard, this bug needs to be fixed and OpenOffice needs to be
instructed about it ASAP.

Agreed, first order of business is to get the application working then
and only then would any localization work begin.

Do please continue to let us know what transpires/develops with regard
to this issue.
