To be honest, I'm not sure how this "composite keys" feature work,
google didn't help. I discovered it by reading this post on gnome-i18n
list http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-i18n/2008-June/msg00030.html.

I did nothing other than restarting X. If you are using GTK+ app, make
sure you are using X input method (select it from the right click menu,
or set the GTK_IM_MODULE="xim" environment variable.
